Operating since 2009 in South Florida, this company specializes in refrigerated transportation, providing long haul, regional and dedicated transportation as well as consolidation, logistics services and cooler warehousing where they do cross docking. Authorized for interstate transport in 48 states. It currently operates in a new larger facility with 5 acres of land in Medley, FL to provide better parking for the trucks, ample space for its own repair shop, storage for truck parts and equipment and a comfortable office space of 1,200 sq ft. In addition, they also lease another facility located in Doral, FL which is a 20,000 Sq Ft temperature-controlled warehouse from where they distribute produce, dairy, meat, fish, fresh cut flowers, and other refrigerated goods.

Avalanche Express has a long history in the refrigerated transportation and provides customers with innovative cold chain solutions to all their transportation needs. They strive to be the best perishable handling company in the industry, for that, they have highly qualified personnel that will attend to all specifications and needs.

The company currently operates 75 trucks with state of art tracking technology. It owns 28 trucks and 42 trailers, the rest of the trucks are owner operated. The company only operates reefers and transports refrigerated goods. All reefers are owned by the company, and it leases them to the owner operators. All drivers are independent contractors.

For the first time, this year the company was able to obtain a fixed cost insurance policy based on truck miles. Although the policy cost about the same than what the company used to pay, now the company can add an unlimited amount of trucks to the policy without increasing the cost. Any Auto type coverage extends Liability insurance to hired and other non-owned trucks, and new trucks added during the policy term.

Since the pandemic started in 2020, the company began storing a large variety of truck parts for their own use because of the difficulties to obtain the consumable parts on time. Now they keep a stock of new tires, engines, filters, etc. and this allows them to service their trucks quickly and efficiently at a much lower cost. Also, the company has its own repair shop and fully dedicated mechanics that guarantees that every truck and trailer is in very dependable condition to perform without delays. All trucks are inspected and maintained regularly to comply with the state and federal regulations. A dedicated team constantly supervises the electronic driver’s Logbooks, and they consistently maintain a clean record complying with all regulations.
